What the Boys Are Doing for Your Garden
The leaves are turning here in Douglasville, which means it's time to put the garden to bed. That's where the boys come in. Come spring, your beds will thank you.
Herd Spotlight: Ninja
If you've ever met Ninja, you've probably been checked for snacks. Lunch is barely over before he's scouting the pasture for whatever's next. He's the darkest of our boys, and in the evening light you'll sometimes only spot his topknot bobbing toward the feed bucket.
Come Visit
The season is winding down. We're open each weekend for the rest of October and the first weekend of November, and then we're closed for a while. If you've been meaning to come out, now's the time.
For the Gardeners
So what's actually in a bean? Fresh alpaca beans are roughly 1% nitrogen, with smaller amounts of phosphorus and potassium. That's a low, gentle dose, so they feed your soil slowly instead of hitting your plants all at once. They also add organic matter, which helps heavy Georgia clay loosen up and hold water over time. Need a little or a lot? We'll mail up to 2 lbs anywhere USPS goes. For a bigger batch, swing by and we'll load a full bag into your trunk.
Things are still busy behind the scenes, and we'll have more to tell you soon.
